Pew report features Nevada incarceration issues

As noted below in the "In the news" post, the Pew Center on the States has issued a report: One in 100: Behind Bars in America 2008. The report makes several references to Nevada incarceration issues and discusses AB 510 and the Legislature's effort to deal with sentencing issues. The statistics on racail differences in incarceration rates, at page 7 of the report, are most disturbing as they state that 1 in 9 black men between the ages of 20 to 34 are incarcerated, while the rate for white men age 18 or older is 1 in 106.
