US Supreme Court party in sentencing guidelines case is killed

Petitioner Mario Claiborne from the case of Claiborne v. United States, which is currently awaiting decision by the United States Supreme Court, was killed during a robbery in St. Louis. It appears that the cert. petition will be dismissed based upon his death. A discussion and links to relevant materials are available at Sentencing Law and Policy.
