Governor Gibbons has signed a number of bills concerning criminal justice, courts and prisons. The following bills were signed on or before May 18, 2007:

SB 193 - Makes appropriations to State Public Works Board to provide early funding for capital improvement projects at Ely State Prison and Grant Sawyer Office Building. Effective 3/28/07

AB 32 - Revises provisions related to court reporters. Effective 7/1/07

AB 192 - Clarifies provisions concerning the authority to stay the execution of a judgment of death. Effective 4/25/07

AB 30 - Revises certain provisions governing the distribution of proceeds from certain administrative assessments. Effective 7/1/07

AB 100 - Elminates the requirement that a certified court reporter be appointed as a notary public to administer oaths and affirmations. Effective 7/1/07

AB 152 - Exempts tests and examinations requested by a court pursuant to a program of treatment and rehabilitation from certain restrictions. Effective 10/1/07

AB 8 - Makes various changes concerning bail or release after an arrest for driving a vehicle or operating a vessel under the influence of intoxicating liquor or certain other substances. Effective 10/1/07

SB 34 - Makes various changes to provisions concerning protective orders. Effective 7/1/07

AB 37 - Resises provisions relating to the administration of the Department of Corrections. Effective 10/1/07

SB 38 - Revises certain provisions governing the forfeiture of credits earned to reduce the maximum term of imprisonment when a parolee violates a condition of his parole. Effective 5/10/07

AB 106 - Prohibits prisoners in the custody of the Department of Corrections from obtaining or possessing portable telecommunications devices. Effective 5/10/07

AB 58 - Revises provisions governing murder of the first degree. Effective 10/1/07

AB 381 - Revises provisions related to domestic violence. Effective 7/1/07

AB 282 - Makes various changes to provisions concerning domestic violence. Effective 10/1/07

AB 482 - Makes various changes to provisions relating to criminal procedure. Effective 10/1/07

AB 575 - Repeals an obsolete statute relating to county workhouses for indigent persons and homes for the aged. Effective 5/14/07

SB 32- Revises the provisions concerning the detention of certain delinquent children who violate parole. Effective 7/1/07

SB 208 - Makes various changes to provisions governing employees who are summoned to appear for jury duty. Effective 5/17/07

SB 294 - Revises the provision concerning mandatory detention of a child who commits a battery that constitutes domestic violence. Effective 5/17/07

AB 72 - Revises provisions governing the crime of luring a child. Effective 10/1/07

AB 77 - Makes various changes concerning the competency of defendants. Effective 10/1/07

AB 261 - Makes various changes to provisions relating to child abuse and neglect. Effective 7/1/07

AB 306 - Makes various changes to provisions concerning technological crimes. Effective 10/1/07

AB 20 - Revises the provisions pertaining to travel costs that jurors are entitled to receive. Effective 7/1/07

AB 505 - Changes the period for the filing of declarations, acceptances and certificates of candidacy for certain judicial offices. Effective 5/18/07
